Criteria for selecting proposals...
Preference is given to accredited schools of public health. Applicant's objectives must identify performance outcome standards against which accomplishments can be measured. The potential of the proposed methodology to achieve the outcomes should be specified in the objectives. Administrative ability of the applicant to complete the proposed project should be addressed. Adequacy of collaborative arrangements to provide practical settings and other resources needed for the success of the project should be stated. Budget completeness, appropriateness, cost-effectiveness, and justification must be stated. Experience of project faculty particularly in the five core areas of public health (epidemiology, biostatistics, social and behavioral sciences, health services and environmental health). Clarity of plan for identifying and training under-represented minorities and for training in underserved areas must be stated. Expressed willingness to be an active participant in a National Centers Coordinating Group must be stated.
